  • What can WaveSecure Lite for Android do?
    WaveSecure Lite for Android notifies you of new SIM cards inserted in your phone by sending an SMS to a buddy number you set in the application. You can also send an SMS to the SIM in your phone to lock, track the location and wipe your phone.

  • What are the SMS commands I can send?
    You can send the following commands via SMS to the SIM in your Android phone

    • To lock your phone with the default lock message, send Wslite lock <PIN> e.g. Wslite lock 123456

    • To lock your phone and sound an alarm, send Wslite lock alarm <PIN> e.g. Wslite lock alarm 123456. This works even if your phone is on silent mode!

    • To lock your phone and display a custom message on the lock screen, send Wslite lock <PIN> <message> e.g. Wslite lock 123456 Please return my phone!

    • To locate your phone, send Wslite locate <PIN> e.g. Wslite locate 123456. This will send you a website link to view your phone's location on a web browser. This works even if your GPS is turned off!

    • To wipe your phone, send Wslite wipe <PIN> e.g. Wslite wipe 123456. Your contacts, SMS and SD Card will get wiped.

Installing WaveSecure Lite

  • I’m really interested in getting WaveSecure Lite, but I can’t find it on your page. What’s up with that?
    We do not distribute WaveSecure Lite over our website interestingly enough. Instead, you can get it either through Nokia Ovi Store Ovi Store, or Android Market.

  • I tried to install WaveSecure Lite on my phone, and it asks me to enter a friend’s mobile number. What does this mean?
    WaveSecure Lite uses a system of buddy notification to keep your phone secure. Whenever your phone’s SIM is replaced, an SMS is sent to your friend telling him what the new SIM’s number is. BE SURE TO ADD “+COUNTRY CODE” TO THE NUMBER TO SAFEGUARD AGAINST LOSING YOUR PHONE OVERSEAS.

Using WaveSecure Lite

  • Where can I find WaveSecure Lite?
    WaveSecure Lite will be found in the default Installation folder of your phone.

  • How does phone lock work?
    There are three ways to go about doing it.
    a) Manually on the WaveSecure Lite Main menu via the “Lock Now” button.
    b) Set auto-lock on SIM change “On” (located in Settings tab), and the phone will lock when the SIM is changed.
    c) Send an SMS with the message: “Wslite lock <pin>”, e.g. Wslite lock 123456 (if your PIN is 123456). You can also sound an alarm on your phone with the command “WSlite lock alarm <pin>”)

  • I want to change the text message that displays when locked.
    In order to do so, just go to your settings tab on the main menu. The first entry is the one that allows you to change the lock message (note that the customized message will only appear for locking via SMS or auto-lock on SIM change)

  • I have more than one number in which I want to send notification to.
    Easy as Pie. Just go to the main menu and select “Buddy Numbers”. Just click on options and Add Buddy Number.

  • I forgot my PIN! What can I do?
    You can either go to Options, Forgot PIN or press Forgot PIN on the lock screen. A temporary PIN will be sent to your buddies which you can use to enter the application
